Η σκυλίτσα Λάσι και ο 12χρονος Φλόριεν είναι αχώριστοι φίλοι. Η καρδιά τους όμως θα ραγίσει, όταν η Λάσι πρέπει να φύγει από το σπίτι αφού ο πατέρας έμεινε δίχως δουλειά. Κι ενώ η νέα της οικογένεια είναι ευγενική απέναντι της, ειδικά η 12χρονη Πρισίλα, ένας καιροσκόπος υπάλληλος τους της κάνει τη ζωή δύσκολη, με αποτέλεσμα η Λάσι να δραπετεύσει.
